This is a classic puzzle, first sold in 1892 by E. L. Thurston. The goal is to fill the square so that all the adjacent edges match. Don't worry if you find it hard at first - most people take 15 minutes or so when they start, but it quickly gets easier as you learn how to do it!

On an interesting mathematical side-note, these puzzles can be converted into equivalent polyomino puzzles - but just how this is done remains a mystery to me.
